6th Connecticut Regiment
The 6th Connecticut Regiment was raised out of New Haven Connecticut on May 1st, 1775 as a provincial regiment of the newly formed American Continental Army. The 6th Connecticut would serve until 1783 and fight in such battles as the Battle of Stony Point and the Battle of Long Island. The history of the 6th is carried on in the 6th Connecticut Regiment, a modern day living history group that portrays the 6th as it was between April 20th, 1775 and January 1781. The group can be seen at various events throughout the northeast United States like Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.
