Experience an unforgettable Civil War Reenactment at Slaughter Pen Farm Living History and Battle Recreation

The Battle of Slaughter Pen was a bloody Civil War battle that took place in Virginia in December of 1862.  The battle was part of the Battle of Fredericksburg and is one of the bloodiest battles of the war. Over 5000 casualties were inflicted on just the farm alone. Although the battle was a tactical victory for the Confederates, the victory did not come without a large cost.

Every year, the historic event is reenacted by Civil War enthusiasts from all over the country. The reenactment is a huge event, with over 1,000 people taking part in the three-day battle. Attendees can watch as Confederate and Union soldiers face off against each other, recreating the intense fighting that took place over 150 years ago. In addition to the battle, there are also living history encampments, where visitors can learn about what life was like for soldiers during the Civil War. The Battle of Slaughter Pen Reenactment is a fascinating event that brings history to life.
