Notable Performers
Airforce Thunderbirds Logo

The Thunderbirds have been the U.S. Air Force demonstration squadron since May of 1953. Flying their multi-role fighter jet, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the team performs in air shows as well as flyovers for various events. These demonstrations help to showcase the skill and professionalism it takes to be part of one of the finest fighting forces in the world. Airshow demonstrations typically consist of six aircraft flying in formation and performing acrobatics. Like most performers, the pilots and crew are usually available for meet and greets.

The Spirit of Flight Foundation's History Gallery offers a truly unique display of historic aviation history. The world-class collection blends general and military aviation to inspire the wonders of flight. Many one-of-a-kind aircraft and unique flight artifacts and memorabilia have been acquired to honor the men and women who have contributed to aviation history and to also educate the general public on the efforts to build and fly aircraft. Our mission is to acquire, restore, preserve and display aviation history to honor all American veterans, to educate the general public of the significance of aviation, and to inspire future generations to become involved in aviation and/or aviation history. In addition, the Spirit of Flight Foundation produces aviation-themed film and television projects to support its mission. The Spirit of Flight focuses on showcasing one of a kind and rare pieces of aviation history from 1935-1975. We are a 100% volunteer-run, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization supported entirely by museum visitors, members, donors and corporate financial support, as well as through aircraft and parts sales, gift shop sales, and donations of memorabilia. The Spirit of Flight collection is frequently updated with new items and rotating exhibits, including the Mobile Museum. There is something for everyone!
