Battle of Resaca

Every May the Georgia Division Reenactors Association takes you back to the scene of one of the most important battles in the Atlanta Campaign. The Battle of Resaca was the largest battle fought during this campaign and you can experience it. Not only will visitors get to witness an authentic reenactment on an actual civil war battlefield, but they'll also learn about military strategies used by both sides during this historic battle.

Once everyone arrives at Resaca Battlefield Park, our expert guides will provide an overview of what happened during those fateful three days in May. You’ll learn about the tactics employed by both sides, as well as more general information about the Atlanta Campaign and how it helped shape our country’s future. Of course, there will also be plenty of time for questions and answers throughout this interactive tour.

Finally, visitors can look forward to witnessing a full-scale battle reenactment featuring hundreds of civil war reenactors! Experienced Civil War enthusiasts have faithfully recreated every detail – right down to the very stitches in their uniforms– so that visitors can get a real sense of what it must have been like to fight in this epic conflict. It will truly be a sight to behold!
