Experience an unforgettable Civil War Reenactment at Battle of Big Cypress Bayou
An excerpt from the event website . . .
Constructed and used by the confederacy throughout the civil war, the last serving free standing confederate powder magazine, serves as your gateway to the battle field. During reconstruction, various units from the Union Army took over this magazine and the nearby pasture. Be sure to stop by to see the relics found on the property in just the past few months by Jefferson local Tom Moss. (Open to the public)
This year's battle will take place along side the Big Cypress Bayou on Total Farm. The night fire on June 4th, will feature as many big guns and period rockets as we can get so that re-enactors and spectators alike can see the power that these weapons of war possess.
Each battle will be unique as veteran battle field commander, Gary Stephens from the Trans Mississippi Volunteer Infantry (TMVI) works to bring units of artillery, infantry and cavalry together in a fight for control of Baghdad of the Bayou!
