The Battle of Cedar Creek

The Battle of Cedar Creek Civil War Reenactment is an exciting opportunity to experience the drama and history of the American Civil War. The event will takes place every October in Middletown, and features a full-scale re-enactment of the historic 1864 battle between Union General Philip Sheridan and Confederate General Jubal Early. This thrilling event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all participants.

Visitors will observe firsthand how battles unfolded and observe activities such as artillery drills, musket firing demonstrations, infantry maneuvers and more! They can also explore the vast encampment grounds to witness a variety of life during the time period with period dress, living histories, foodways, music and more!

Special guests such as historians, authors and re-enactors will be on hand to answer questions about the battles that took place during that time. There will also be special interactive programs for kids including hands-on activities with muskets, flags and other artifacts from that era.
